For those unfamiliar with Trinbagonian parlance, a “big wet steups” is an emphatic expression of disapproval, frustration or disgust. Or pretty much anything in-between. On a recent mission, a gorgeous male Silver-beaked Tanager flew in close, so close that I could see his eyes from where I sat. Low light, no problem. I slowed my shutter to 1/30th of a second to get that rich red colour. A little flash to bring out the detail on the water droplets. Only one very small and completely insignificant issue.
He stayed right in that location for a few more seconds, and then flew off, laughing at me. Good thing I can laugh at myself too 🙂
